My Ultimate Burger


There are thousands of recipes for burgers out there, but my favourite is the one below. I like my burger to be herbal and lift it with my amazing sauce. By the way you can have a great tasting burger without the mayo…


For the Burger (enough for 6 burgers)

  • 1 kg of minced beef (organic)
  • A handful of mixed mint and parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

For the sauce

  • 200 grams of Greek style yogurt
  • 60 grams finely chopped shallots (or red onion)
  • 60 grams finely chopped gherkin
  • 2 finely sliced lettuce leafs
  • 30 grams yellow mustard
  • 30 grams ketchup

For the construction of your Burger

  • Burger bans (I used seeded brioche)
  • Bacon
  • Cheese of your choice
  • Sliced tomatoes



  1. Start with your mince. Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix them gently. Do not work your mince too much, as the more you work it the tougher it gets. Put it back in the fridge for at least an hour
  2. In the meantime you can start your sauce. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl
  3. Now for your burgers use about 150-170 grams of the mince to form them. 
  4. Then put them in your oven grill, electric grill, or your barbecue. I used electric grill. 
  5. Cook them until they are done. I wouldn’t recommend to have your burgers anything but medium well to well done, as once a blade touches the meat you need to cook it, (this is why you can have a fillet steak rare as the blade only touches the edges of the meat).
  6. In the last couple of minutes you may add your cheese if you prefer it melted. 
  7. You can also cook your bacon at the same time as your burgers depending on how crispy you want it.
  8. Now to construct your burger, put a generous blob of sauce on the bottom bun, followed by your tomatoes, the burger and the bacon. 
  9. You can add if you want another bit of the sauce on the top bun before you cover your burger.

I will design a menu based on your preferences and occasion. All the ingredients will be sourced by me and will be fresh and organic where possible.

On the day of the event, i will arrive at your home and will do all the appropriate preparations for the meal. Depending on the menu i might need to be there a few hours earlier.

During the meal i will serve the dishes or prepare the buffet. Once the meal is complete, i will clear the dishes, clean the kitchen and then leave. Discreetly.
